I went all Leonardo recently and decided to design some flowers that, when fastened to the top of a house in the NorthEast Kingdom, would gently ring. The hardest part to figure out was the attachment of the flower base, with a rope which would continue along a horizontal strut past the house and then dangle so that visitors could ring the flower bells. The innner workings of this are not quite complete.
And wouldn't that make a lovely little art quilt? It is sometimes very troublesome to be with DaVinci. I only understand the numbers thing for a brief bit of time, as if I'm channeling Einstein. But than, regrettably, it's all gone.
I need to find my copy of The Way Things Work, by David McCauley and revisit this over the weekend. I love that book so much! There are fabulous illustrations for the visual learner. I've given copies away over the years to at least three (it's always) men who are like minded in their love of mechanical engineering.
