Hyperbolic Planes in crochet. Yup. Someone's been scurrying through her weekend errands and chores to ponder the Non-Euclidean. You can google this stuff if you are actually interested. But artistically, it has to do with undulating planes in crochet (and origami). This crochet thing is really super cool. And the freeform? Awesome
You have to be pretty good at crochet to do this well. It's like abstract art, if you know what I mean. And I'm not all that good but it sure is fun. I've got to sit down next weekend and weave in all those tails and then sew some things together.
This is an enormous world. One of the sites I found is The Institute for Figuring. You don't need to understand what hyperbolic planes mean in geometry to do this. But I've always like geometry.
