You can have a load of fun with scissors and a package of colored tissue paper.
I cut down a package of 20"x26" tissue to 10"x13" pieces. Hold landscape and fold down an inch at the top. Leave that for gluing in your hanging string later.
Cut stars, hearts, squares, triangles, half moons. The girl above and the little guy below worked collaboratively to make the face that he's holding.
Make partial cuts. Make another fold and cut along that. Make horizontal folds.
Rub the folded down area with a bit of blue stick, lay a piece of string or ribbon below the fold and fold it down.
String them all together and hang them in a window. Enjoy. And thanks to the kids and parents of Roslyn Library for loads of fun last night. Might I suggest a Marguerita?
