I'm thrilled to announce today that I'm on Joggles.com's Design Team for 2017. I shopped with them, liked their service and prices. Joggles also produces their own stencils and collage papers. It's a great shop for mixed media.
Joggles carries Carabelle Studio stamps. CS has wonderful imagery as in Mr. Chaplin above. All of the background on this journal page was done with Distress Ink and Stains. It's a process of building layer upon layer of ink and results in a very rich background. Unfortunately in the beginning of this video, I was working on a gesso'd page. The surface was slick so the ink didn't stay put.
You'll see the process in the video and I promise to do another video showing the inking process on plain paper! You can get a taste of the background in the photo above. And so it goes. You always learn from mistakes and the inking on the gesso'd page is really beautiful - just not what I was going for.
Some sloppy gluing led me to problem solving with iCraft Deco Foil. Now that's making lemonade. I love the foiling. Sorry about the glare. The little poem says:
A secret wish stepped
Forward by the
Wild light of the moon
Sing It Through
I switched over to one of my handmade One Sheet journals with Stonehenge paper. (See all links below the video.) Don't forget to check out The Humament. This is a published book of an altered book called the Human Document. It's been altered by Tom Philips. Every so often, they republish the book with the new artwork. It's super cool! I'll leave you now with the video.
