Thanks for stopping by today. I've had my eye on this stamp set for some time now. It's just so freakin' pretty! Flowers and feathers? Yikes!
I tried to do a very soft and muted palette with this card. I could have pushed it further. Since my "go-to" is bold, it's hard to go the other way!
The design process is fun for me. It's relaxing to hunt through my ink colors and put a palette together. There are tons of places online to find palettes. That's a very good place to start.
There is a huge variety of ink colors out there which can definitely put a dent in your budget. I'm in the process of creating and organizing ink swatches to make it easier to avoid duplicates. Another thing to remember is that you can use all inks together: Dye, Distress and Archival (which are oil based). Make sure to allow dry time for the Pigment inks though.
We have a dear friend in the hospital right now and I made this "Fighter" card for him. You'll notice in the video that I used masking only on the big yellow flowers. The overlap of the other flowers and feathers seem to lend a whimsical, wispy look to this card.
Enjoy the video and look through your stamps and inks for soft colors, flowers, leaves. Leaves can very easily be made into feathers. There is a complete supply list below.
