New video on YouTube about creating really cool papers with Citrasolve and a National Geographic. I think that there is something special about the paper and ink in Nat Geo, but am not completely sure.
Here is another YouTube vid by LindaLunarDesigns. There are a couple of other vids over there as well and information on the CitraSolv website. Cathy Taylor had an article in Cloth Paper Scissors about the process a few months ago. My copy is, sadly, missing. If anyone has it, let me know so I can share the Issue No.
Pretty cool results. I've already begun to use the papers in collage work and have put some aside for art journaling. Also, it took up some carpet tape that I've been trying to get removed for a few years now. I love multi-taskers, don't you?
My son loved this piece (below) so much that he's taking it back to college. I just double-stick taped it to some cardboard.
Anyway, the rumor is that Dick Blick will be carrying it soon.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
UPDATE *8/29* Reader, Mary Dean, pointed out that she was using the CitraSolv spray (which is not the concentrated form). This technique only works with the concentrated regular old CitraSolv. Also, she reports that this technique works on new Nat Geo's as well as old ones. thanks for the research Mary Dean! The Nat Geos I used were from 2001 and 2009. I'd go ahead and try with other mags too with large pictures.
