My small collection of hand dyed fabrics from Shibori Girl and Deb Lacativa Purchased over the last several months, this stash is a beautiful thing to look at and fold. Nownit is time to touch, feel and sew. These are mostly vintage cloths and have a soft history in them. I always have to push myself to use these luscious treasures even though it seems clear that this was their purpose (yes, tongue in cheek).
Raise your hand if this applies to you.
I'm still fighting this danged flu and so will be poking in and out until recovery is complete and strength is recovered.
Precious, yes. That's exactly the right word for a pile of this kind! :-)
Be well soon!

Gorgeous colors! I get the same way with fabrics...i have a small piece an online friend sent me. She told me she had hand-dyed it in high school. I feel like it is such a treasure, i need to have a very special project to use it on/in!
Feel better diana!

Thanks Hanna. Isnt it funny though that I buy these things to USE and them precious-ify them.

My hand is up! I have a small hoard of fabrics that I can't bring myself to use. No project ever seems good enough. If I need fabric for a project, I go out and buy new fabric. I just can't bear to cut up my special hoard, LOL.

trying to whittle down that pile is hard! I used to be a rag doll maker and collected old worn fabrics for the dolls. even tho I dont do dolls any more its painful to part with some of the old faded.fabrics. need to find a different use for them.

well I just call this part of the process creative marination and that switches it to a sensible and perhaps downright necessary cycle. Funny how sometimes I sit on gorgeous fabric like a hen hatching an egg and then other times I barely get it in the door before I'm ripping and cutting and stitching.
