Art Is You, Danbury! Time to sign up!
There are a million colors of paint and, tempting as they are, I've designed my acrylic painting classes to concentrate on just three primaries. Why limit yourself?
Using a limited palette is an automatic way to provide a cohesive end-product!
This video gives you a peek into my process of using a limiting palette with acrylic glazing liquid. We'll also be discussing pattern, line and composition in this class and working with tissue paper collage elements.
Go here for a full description. You know you want to and need a nice arty break after the summer.
Very nice tutorial. I haven't played with good acrylics before and I can see how this would be a blast.
The video window doesn't fit in your blog so there is a smidgen missing on the right side. I'll have to go watch it on youtube so that I can see if I missed anything over there. ;)

Yes, I fixed it! A friend shared the big secret about resizing those embedded YouTube players. Thank Traci Bunkers!

Hey Diana, thanks for the informational video! I tried the wet-on-wet technique on a canvas I was working on this evening for my 30 Days of Get Your Art On.

Sallianne McClelland just sent me to look at your blog because she thought I'd love it and I do. I love your colours and ideas and I can see I'll have a good time reading back and looking at your videos. Greetings from Australia!

Hello Diana. I have begun to use acrylic paint in earnest. I find it to be an interesting paint and I think I would like to try using it from jars rather than tubes. I have not gotten a 'surface' that I like just yet. I think my canvases are over worked or that perhaps I am using the wrong brushes, I use recycled watercolor brushes-so they are crap by the time I start using them. Don't get me wrong, I love my results but there are a few things that need tweaking. Thanks for the vid peek.

yeah, brushes are so important. I baby mine and they last for a long time. But eventually, they just are past their prime. Enjoy the acrylics, Melly. I like the fluids myself for the way I work.

Beauty! I always wanted to learn to paint! but neither the talent nor the time! My grandfather paints beautiful pictures!

Hmmm ... the time thing: I get it. The talent on the other hand, I truly believe that it is the desire to do a thing that is the talent. Talent=Desire?
