Papers, purchased and found in Italy
Is it "stash" or "collection?" Do you have drawers full of fabric scraps and boxes of paper scraps not big enough for a project but too precious to toss? Consider this: put them together in books and elevate their status to "collection."

There are plenty of blank journals banging around here. So, yes. A project for the holiday week.
I have a stash of material, a collection of travel 'bits' and some treasure that I can't quite bring myself to use! Maybe as I develop more confidence in what I do...? But then again...?

Haha! yes....I have a "collection" of paper, Diana. They come already bound in an array of beautiful and tasteful colours via the local decorating shop. Wallpaper Sample books, and I have far too may of them to know what to do with, lol

Mmmmm, you have been poking around in my stash haven't you, lol! Personally I think it all comes under the heading of treasure because one way or another, it will go into making beautiful works of art.

thanks for the link and the comment. I LOVE the Dots journal. My husbands favorite candy. Thanks for keeping the Duct Tape Journal Movement going. Maybe a Flickr group is in order!

I've added to the flickr group, a photo of the duct tape notebook that I carry round in my handbag. Earlier this year I got the kids in my class to make them to use as a homework notebook but didn't take photos. How silly was that! They loved watching the YouTube clip and then they made them - some added collage to the cover as well, other drew on them. We were learning to read, write and listen to instructions - interesting how much art you can do when you are a (deviously creative) literacy teacher :)

Diana-I can't find the flicker group. Did you indeed make it? If so, could you post the link? Thanks. I made another book last nite from a cigarette carton I bought in Paris. I have been shuffling it around for ages, reluctant to throw it away. Can we say hoarder--again! I no longer smoke (two years clean)but I remember smoking in Paris with pleasure!

Love those sample books! Ive used them for book covers with my teen and kids class. We made Japanese style books with them over the summer. Stitched them together as packets for class kits, wrapped things in them, used them for mailing envelopes. I just saw an idea for using them to wallpaper in a patchwork fashion. It looked great!

Isnt it wonderful to expand the school programs with art? and music and dance! I think ... it is much more enjoyable and richer learning experience. Yea, Wendy!
