These pieces were included in the Begin portion of One Year.
Quilty, hand(led), stitched. They feel personal. Holding the art while making it. With both hands, front and back.
I like art: Make*Write*Teach
I love this! It's just beautiful!

Diana, I adore this. The color, the beautiful imperfection of your stitching, the artsy quiltiness.

Wonderful pieces Diana - love that magenta, it glows. It looks like you've used all sorts of fabric and paper . . . Yes?

These are gorgeous!

The colors are soft and rich. Sure wish you would do a tutorial on how to accomplish this amazing work of art. An online class would be wonderful.

Gorgeous! Both to look at and, I imagine, to hold! I love the feel of paper combined with fabric and stitching! Those leaves are stunning, and the addition of the lighthouse is so fairy tale like - love it :) Happy New Year!

A class on paper cloth would be wonderful. I would also like a class that would teach us to machine sew just like you have done in Begin:
New Work. It is amazing and I would love to be able to produce such fantastic work. I have hunted for a while now for exactly what you have done but, I can't find the entire procedure like your coloring and stitching. Hand and machine stitching on these pieces is amazing.
I would be more than willing to pay for such a class.

Wow, love these Diana! Did you stitch on them by hand? Tell me more! :-)
Posted by: iHanna | 01/16/2013 at 09:04 AM
Hello Hanna, sorry for the delay in responding. The mid-section of the pieces were stitched by hand on papercoth and the outer sections with machine. Put together in a quilt-like fashion.
