Because it is 97,000,000 degress F here which is 450,000,000 C. I will take February anytime. So I can't think very well. It was 95 F in the studio this morning with the AC. I was only up there for an hour when the sweat began to run into my eyeballs and sting.
Iced coffee, ice cubes, fans, misters, double doses of deoderant and I still stink. But here is something: a before and not-exactly-after-but-more-in-the-middle
and the almost finished bit. This class is up on Little Bird, NYC, scheduled for Nov 23. you can see more here and I'll get to a full post on this class and Beyond the Background at The Ink Pad, here, next week.
Some of the stitching was done while waiting with Aunt Betty at Will's Eye Hospital's ER on Monday. She went in for what we thought was a broken blood vessel with a ton of bleeding and wound up having surgery and spending the night. She is fine now. Everything you've heard about Will's Eye (if you're in Philly) is true. The docs and nurses are way beyond the best, and extremely kind and patient.
I'm off to stick my head in the freezer.
Diana, I am having flashbacks to how hot it was in Rome and Fabriano last year (I don't remember Florence as being quite so hot but perhaps I am blocking that out!), it seems to be just as hot here this year! But these are the days I dream of in February, so I'm not complaining! Thank goodness for A/C and refrigeration. Wish I could join you in NYC, those stamped and stenciled and embroidered pieces look fabulous!

That's Bangkok hot! I hated it when the air temperature was hotter than my blood. It required several showers a day, only cotton or linen clothes (loose and light) and lots of water to drink! Maybe an ice pack, ice tea and then find a small breeze somewhere and meditate?

I would like it to be February all year long. Not only was it hot in NC but, we had rain all of the time and I actually thought I was in Washington state.
I love the stamp and stenciling on this piece of work. Wish going to NY would be possible for me but, not a chance. Maybe one day.

Diana,
I am with you here in NE Philly, beyond sick of this stinking soupy weather. I want to live at Crystal Cave in the Poconos. I think the cave's year round temp. Is about 55 degrees, sounds wonderful to me. Hang in, maintain sense of humor at all times.

At least it is a bit cooler now and better weather this week! I should be in the studio again tomorrow, yippee. As to caves, they are delightful in the summer! Have you ever been on the tour in Fairmount Prison? I was FREEZING in there on a very warm day. And it was really creepy ;)
