Tacket stitch is one of my favorite binding stitches because of its versatility. It's a medieval European stitch so I taught it in Fabriano, Italy last year and again at the Ink Pak.
Since I began experimenting with tacket, ways to simplify the stitch have occured and this makes everyone happy.
I lead you through the math involved in baby steps and it leads you to a patterned spine that you can use for all sorts of binding stitches.
Here is the dos-i-dos Tacket book I made in Italy last year and I'll show you how to do this. See Promo Video below
But first we tackle the more challenging book form. Set your imagination loose in the last lesson where variations will be covered. You'll never want to stop.
And not to brag, but my students are giving me rave reviews on my online courses. With words like "concise, clear instruction" and "I never thought I'd be able to learn Longstitch and I did!" I'm pretty durned proud of the hard work I put into these videos and instructions to turn you into a bookbinder.
Tacket Stitch begins October 28, 2013. $40 gets you permanent access to the class. Tacket in your jammies any time you want.
