Last week Stacy asked me to do a journal flip and so here it is!
It's been a hectic week. Full of deadlines and a few stumbles. Items lost and found. Good news and not good news. I'm a little brain dead.
As Aunt Betty would say: "What the hell are ya gonna do?"
One of the many things I love about Aunt Betty. Here's the video. Enjoy!
Let's look at a couple of the pages and see if anything inspires you. Between this post and my First Friday Artist post, I hope to leave you with lots of inspiration to take you through a long holiday weekend - at least here in the US!
WoW! I am so honored to be mentioned! This is enough inspiration to last a lifetime! I think my favorite page is the lime green with the rust colored ghost print from your stencil. Don't you love what they leave behind? I happen to LOVE your scrap-booky page but I totally know what you mean. I have some of those pages in my journals too. Like when I was working on the page I had an end result in mind and that feels too much like work which is the opposite of what art journaling is all about-to me at least. Lately I've been trying new techniques and I will add a fragment of a sentence that means something to me alone. Your "Stitched Art" section is so beautiful, Diane! It totally inspired me. Last night I ironed a bunch of sari silk ribbons to a piece of interface. There are a bunch of gaps. Best cased scenario, it is a work in progress but YOU are 100% the reason I am not going to give up on it. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your soul today! It means the world to me. It really does!

Well, you sure did make my day, Stacy. I was really happy to share my journal and will do more of them in the future.
I’ve been thinking about scrapbooking for awhile know as a way to preserve memories and the difference between that and my journal. It’s a funny line to walk - what is for others: scrapbook and what is for yourself: journal. It’s funny that you mention sari cloth, I have a whole big bowl rolled up of it. It’s been sitting around for years :) I look forward to hearing what you do with yours.

Thank you Diana for showing us this gorgeous journal:I love your colors, drawings, collage bits mixed with handwriting. I find your pages very inspiring and your thoughts about personal journal vs scrapbook journal give me food for thoughts!
Have a nice creative week-end!

Thanks for the flip of the journal, Diana. I love the "eclectic" nature of it.

Great! Looking forward to more! Also....."insight"....because I'm anal. Although you do "incite" us to work in our journals.

lol. I did notice that and I thank you deeply for caring about the English language. I’m a little anal about it too.
