Recently I attended a beautiful art quilt show. Kaffe Fassett* quilts side by side with his historic inspiration quilts.
Lines don't need to be straight. I love that organic line that guides but doesn't trap.
Chevron never goes out of style and great historic work always looks fresh.
Even a minimalist will agree that even though less is sometimes more, when pattern is well combined more is more (better).
Kaffe Fassett is a fabric arts, fabric designer and extraordinary artist. For more inspiration, go look at Kaffe 's site here. His fabrics are widely available at quilt shops everywhere.
Happy Monday friends! I'm hoping that this week I start feeling more like more old self.
I took my sister to see that exhibit for her birthday. So much eye candy and inspiration within a small exhibit. I've always liked his fabric and his quilts but I never saw his paintings. I fell in love with the colors and textures of his art work. Have a good week.

I am not that familiar but I even know that name. What a fun exhibit to see. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos for those of us who could not see it!

I love Kaffe Fassett's fabric. I have all his books and just love getting them out every so often and looking through them. His quilts just make me happy. thanks for sharing and hope you're feeling better very soon.

You’re welcome, Amy. His work is full of inspiration: color and pattern, for anyone.

His work is amazing, isn’t it? It was such a pleasure his work, his inspiration quilt and to read his words about each. I think I may be on the road to recover, Rita. Thanks for your good wishes. Two surgeries in three months hasn’t made it easy.

I’m so glad you got to see that Barbara. I love the wood scrap quilts by the other artist (drawing a blank) and especially that installation! So cool! Did you walk through?
