Happy June gang! It's a pleasure to share Mary's journal pages with you today. Mary is a dog-lovin' scientist and a wonderful artist to boot. I'm honored to have her as a friend and student. Very few words needed here today.
And speaking of Joy ...
Seamless use of collage.
This one may be my favorite.
Mary uses collage in such a personal way. She makes it her own. I LOVE her color! She drives a cadmium yellow car and that makes me smile. I hope you've enjoyed this show. Let's show her some love!
Thanks Mary!

I've been doing and looking at collage for a very long time. Mary's work is so great. I love the choice of focus images, not just the typical at all. The dogs have so much character. But what I'm really into is the combination of textures and how well they go together. The magazine images are so formal in comparison with clean lines and bunches of color and detail. The backgrounds, and much of the supporting details, are almost gestural yet strong -- which creates a swirl of energy supported by the choices of color. For all that each piece has integrity and unity. This is really great work!
Does Mary have a web site, blog, or other place to look at her work?

Thanks for your response, SusanJane. I will pass this along to Mary. I don’t think she has a web presence but will let you know if she does!

Thanks so much for your kind words - wow. I've had such a great year with an awesome teacher and awesome classmates - so much encouragement and positive energy. I hadn't thought about an online presence, so far I've been approaching art journaling as a daily life journal, but you've all got me thinking! I can't wait to see next month's Artist of the Month and can't wait for our next class to see everyone's latest pages! Thank you again for all of the support and inspiration!

Mary, I'm inspired by the other worldliness of your work. I love the page with the brightly decorated bed. I think we all can relate to nesting and creature comforts. Thanks for posting her pages, Diana!

It was a pleasure to have you here, Mary. You’ll always have a forum with me. Instagram is a fast way to share your work. Take a picture and post. It just needs to be a square.
Make sure to let me know if you set up an account!
