Friday, 10/21: The Giveaway is closed.
Congratulations to Jill Holmes!
Thanks to all of you for your very lovely comments and support!
I'm happy to announce the 5K giveaway from my YouTube channel today. We're celebrating with JetPens.com and a video about Japanese Watercolor Postcards - Etegami.
This is a lovely tradition that embraces the joy of simple painting on a postcard, adding some words and mailing it off. No big talent is required. This is exactly what I've always tried to teach: enjoy doing the art - big or small - without judgement. Your enjoyment of the act of artmaking will result in joyful artwork.
The supplies you need: watercolors, and good paper, a black waterproof pen. If you'd like you can add a little red stamp and a bit of collage. Or not. I have a chop set purchased (donkey) years ago. It's a little jewel. The Etegami postcard paper is special.*see below.
JetPens kindly sent me the Little Red Gift Set with Gansai Tambi paints, a pen and waterbrush, a perfect set for this hobby. The giveaway is one gold Gansai Tambi Paint, a waterbrush, a package of Etegami paper and, mailed separately, one of these Etegami cards from me.
The Etegami paper is super absorbent, the paint will spread out even more if you add a lot of water to the pigment. Things are a bit beyond your control. I do like that. It's good to understand just how much control you can have over your life and art.
You must be subscribed to my YouTube channel to enter the giveaway. When you leave a comment here, you'll be entered into the giveaway pool.
PLEASE LEAVE A WAY FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU.
I will choose a random winner on October 21. IF I CAN'T CONTACT YOU, I'LL CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE. Enjoy the video, leave a comment and use my JetPens links. They aren't affiliate links but JetPens does track the traffic and I want to bring more giveaways from them. 10K! Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel. Only subscribers are eligible to win.

As usual, I really enjoyed watching this video. You show me things that I have never tried before and hopefully when I discover why I have been feeling so punk and get to feeling better, I can give some of these things a try. I am by no means an artist, but with your videos I think I maybe able to attempt something like this (got to get out of my control mode, however). Congrats on your 5K subscribers and I hope you are feeling better and better everyday! God [email protected]

Diana - thank you for the videos - you make it all look so easy! I've come to art late in life and realize I cannot develop every skill. So I have decided that trying to paint "things" is just too much of a learning curve. However, your little postcards are making me rethink that decision. I would love to win the giveaway so that I can get started!

Diana these are a super arty fix to quell that desire to 'just DO something' arty. Haku is a wonderful addition to the unique nature of your cards.
