Today's video goes behind the scenes on my recent design team project on Joggles blog. If you aren't familiar with Joggles, it's a very well run, well stocked mixed media art shop with their own line of stamps, stencils and speciality 3D objects to alter such as the tunnel books.
My strategy for buying these new inks was to get the primaries: Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber and Faded Jeans. I added Cracked Pistachio since it's such a bright color and Ice Spruce (because it's one of my favorites). If you want to try these, you can start small.
I guess that's my strategy with new lines of any colorful media. You can get a lot of mileage out of the basics. On the other hand, I know that many of you would prefer not to mix colors so just go for it! I tend to be a bit conservative sometimes
For the stamped flowers above, I used one of the doodle flower stamps from Joggles and stamped it in Worn Lipstick and used my ink blender to blend the color out. Then repeated the process with Fossilized Amber. I had some video on this technique but it's disappeared :( I'll reshoot.
These inks are different! When you spray with water, you can see them turn white-silver (not metallic). See my Tag Art post here for the Wrinkle Free technique.
Have you tried out Distress Oxides? What are your thoughts?
In the meantime, check out today's card video. Enjoy.

Diana,
Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your finished card projects! As I said in a previous post, you have become quite the card maker. Hope your wrist is better.
