So many of you asked for a journal flip after this post and video about adding extra signatures into your art journal. Here you go! It was a pleasant way to spend some time yesterday.
I love this Stillman & Birn journal. The watercolor paper is thick and thirsty. If you have great paper, everything else gets easier. Use any media you like and the paper will make it look good. That said, a composition book works and please don't put off art journaling because the supplies are too expensive. I tend to have champagne tastes and a beer budget (and I like beer just fine).
Stillman & Birn generously sent me a bunch of journals a couple of years ago to try out. That's one of the perks of my job.
I love writing in my journals. I love writing in general. In the video I talk about handwriting as well. Too much worrying about handwriting. I think I'm getting to be one of those bossy old women. Oh well! LOL
I'm continuing with the self-care. It's a little difficult because I'm such a workaholic. But I'm trying to take it easier and do things I love. I'm feeling a major craftiness storm approaching. And I'm putting together (in the next couple of weeks) information on using different media. Such as what you may want if you would like to do Planning, Gelli Printing, Acrylic Painting, Bookbinding. Do you have any requests? Let me know.
Here's the video
Here are affiliate links* for the Stillman & Birn art journals. I want a soft bound one! They look so good. Has anyone tried one? Or the new mixed media books? Let me know.
*I receive a commission on sales.
I enjoy your blog so much. Many days it has been my hug, so I would like to send a great big HUG to you in hope that it will lift your spirits as you have lifted mine. Thank you.

What a joy to have an inside look at some of your creations! So much variety and great imagination and insight. Diana, I wish I had just a drop of your talent. Although I really haven't been too creative lately, due to my health (although I have made some Christmas cards and a Thanksgiving card), I would like to see more of your journaling process and the products that you like......such as what Gesso, what medium you use to stick stuff down in your journals, more Gelli plate info---------oh heck Diana, I just enjoy watching whatever you do.......LOL Keep up your self care and do whatever makes you happy..( within reason....LOL) God bless........:))

I agree with you Diana about our handwriting, years ago, i would try to copy other people's handwriting because i hated mine so much. i would also "write" a quote, etc using alphabet stamps rather than write it out myself! I came to the same conclusion, my handwriting (imo) might not be as pretty as someone else, but it is mine! i recently came across a small box of letters and cards from my mom and dad, and it's so nice to see their handwriting.... your not bossy! i'm glad you talked about that, it took me a few years to finally realize my handwriting is a part of me, sometimes i'll ink my thumb just to add a thumbprint to my page :)
really enjoyed this flip of your journals.... patterns, swatches, faces.... and using the butterfly stamp to make a pattern, i said out loud "oh! i am SO going to do that!!" "champagne tastes and a beer budget" LOL-i'm the same way! thank you for sharing your delightful and yummy journal pages!!!

Loved your journal flip! You inspired me to do one on my blog too - much appreciated! I had not heard of that journal maker before. I make my own journals since 1996 with hot press paper, before the big manufactured journal craze.
